OUR MISSION

FairShare seeks to provide our unhoused friends in Tulsa the opportunity to experience joy in its purest form.
THE BIG IDEA

Three years ago, Lyla launched FairShare with a simple yet powerful idea: everyone deserves joy. For her, that joy lives at the Tulsa State Fair—so she raised funds to share that experience with others. Working in partnership with City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma, FairShare invites guests recommended by City Lights social workers to enjoy a full day at the fair.
Each guest receives a haircut, new shoes and clothes, and a hotel stay the night before so they can rest and prepare. Then, they're off to enjoy the fair however they choose—rides, food, games, and all.
What began with $1,200 in its first year grew to $5,000 last year. Now, Lyla is dreaming bigger: raising $75,000 to build the FairShare House at City Lights Village—a permanent, dignified home offering joy and refuge for years to come.

HOW IT WORKS

FairShare works closely with agencies who regularly work with those experiencing homelessness. Guests of FairShare will come only by recommendation from agencies and organizations who have a strong and existing relationship. Case workers, staff and/or volunteers of these agencies referring individuals will attend the fair one-on-one with FairShare guests and ensure that they enjoy the Tulsa State Fair to the fullest, however that may look for that individual.
